Trying to forget the past and only focus on the present is a challenge for most.  Every time I think about this concept I'm reminded by a story that I'd like to share.

Imagine putting your spouse or partner into the trunk of a car along with your dog.  An hour later you return to open the trunk. How do you think each will respond to your arrival?

No doubt the spouse or partner will be furious that you put them in the truck and left them there for an hour.  Why?  Because they are focusing on the past, not the present.

And no doubt your dog will greet you with thrill and enthusiasm, wagging his tail faster than every before. Why?  Because the dog thinks only in terms of now and never looks back.

Can you imagine what our world would be like if we could be like dogs in this area?

Let's try to be dogs, forget the past and enjoy the present!
